  Beautiful promenade...but how on earth were we supposed to know that dogs are hardly welcome anywhere? OUTSIDE that is 😳 And it's really not true that the city is so spotless that a dog pee would be inappropriate... So we prefer to come to NL because people are so tolerant of dogs here...Except in Almere that is 😂 Luckily someone pointed it out to us while walking. But when entering Almere there was no large sign with an explanation, nor a no-dog card. Online you really had to make an effort to find the no-dog card... €11,... day ticket parking so paid for nothing. So I would have preferred to give 0 stars 🤷‍♀️

  In my opinion, shopping in the center of Almere was a great success and I thought it was great, I believe we have a new favorite shopping city. I see no reason to drive to a larger city like Amsterdam or Utrecht where you have many of the same shops but you spend a fortune on parking and are constantly in the crowds. I think the atmosphere of the city is very pleasant and it's nice that in addition to all the big chains, you also have quite a few smaller shops to discover. The more than 400 shops are (almost all) open 7 days a week and there is also a lot of choice in terms of catering.
