The parking lot and surrounding area (many office buildings, large abandoned building next door, overgrown parking lot) made me a big nervous checking into this hotel, but my fears were immediately alleviated after walking in. The man who checked me in (I didn’t catch his name, but he was a man of Chinese dissent from the Netherlands) was incredibly kind, helpful, and personable. All of the staff was incredibly accommodating (gave me utensils and a plate at 11 pm, held my luggage for me after checkout, etc.). The bathroom is a bit interesting, but very functional. The bed was a little strange to get into being a top bunk, but was EXTREMELY comfortable. I wouldn’t recommend a top bunk for anyone who isn’t in great shape. As a fit woman in my 20s, it was a little challenging 😂 I utilized the laundry outside which I was a bit nervous about, but my clothes came out perfectly clean and smelling great in only about 75 minutes! More than anything, as a solo female traveler, I felt perfectly safe. The walk to the train station (about 10 mins) to get into the city was very safe. There are 3 places once you get up to your floor where you have to tap your key to get into your room, so it feels very secure. It seemed like most people staying there were in the 20-30 range, but I saw a few folks who appeared to be in their 40s who seemed happy. I have to agree that the walls are thin and the doors are heavy, but it is not as huge of an issue as some reviewers make it out to be. Ear plugs would be plenty if you are a light sleeper. I booked this place the day before for $123 for 2 nights AFTER taxes and fees. Can’t beat the price and the experience is just as advertised. Will be recommending this place to friends who are solo/duo traveling on a budget!

Stayed for two nights as two people in a lower bed. Pro: -Staff were very friendly and helped with recommendations for exploring the area while we were here -~15 minute walk to public transportation in a safe area Con: -There is no divider or curtain between the shower and the rest of the bathroom, so when you take a shower the entire bathroom gets covered in water, especially the floor but even the toilet seat got wet. -You are above or below someone, so as others have said it is easy to hear other guests. We were awakened both mornings at 6am to the guests above us “enjoying time together” which was incredibly loud and disturbing and literally shook our entire bed along with them. Not a pleasant experience. One of the cons is when you shower there is no

Stayed there one night for attending a concert in Amsterdam. Pros: price is good for Amsterdam, considering you have own bathroom and shower. Tiny rooms without windows but for a short stay is definitely ok. Short walk to tram station Uilenstede, which easily connects you to Amsterdam Zuid but also the rest of the city. Staff at reception was professional and friendly. Cons: bad acoustics. Many tiny rooms closed to each other so I expected I would hear the other guests, but unfortunately it was louder than I had imagined. Waking up in the middle of the night to people puking really messes up your experience, even if you had ear plus on. I realize it’s not the hotel’s responsibility that other people puke but the acoustics are. Also, your hear the doors constantly opening and closing. Second con was the cleanliness. Room was cleaned lazily at best. Much room for improvement there. Overall the experience was ok. For a stay of one night it’s definitely fine, especially if you’re going to be in the city for most of the time. For more than one night I wouldn’t recommend

I loved it! Very stylish, comfortable, and functional rooms. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Everything smooth and easy. And i loved being in this very chill part of Amsterdam. The breakfast room is right on the water with plenty of cute duck families. I rented a bike and rode along the canal to the center.

The staff was fantastic and extremely friendly. The room was clean and exactly as pictured online. We did not deal with any noise, but possibly just got lucky with the neighbors. If you get an upper bed, it may be difficult to climb if you have reduced mobility in any way. Prepare to travel 30ish minutes into downtown area. Overall, great price for location and great place to stay.
