Great location, extra charges for drinks in minibar, rooms little outdated and dirty in bathroom (mould etc). Rooms had most things like iron/ironing board, hair dryer and there was a large bath to soak in. There was a wedding when we stayed so could hear the party when the elevator opened however didn't go too late and parts of the hotel was unavailable during this time like the back exit onto the beach front, however staff seemed friendly, spoke good English. Didn't eat at the restaurant as plenty of other food places around.

We went for three days to kurhaus scheveningen. It was an amazing experience. The staff was kind. The spa and swimming pool was relaxing. Breakfast was super. Only 100 m from the pier. The weather was very nice. Our room was zeezicht and we saw the best sundown ever!

The hotel is at a pristine location and has a long history to it but the service is absolutely miserable. Completely regret having come here. If you need something, please ask the staff, guaranteed they'll tell you why they can't do it. Plus, just sitting on a sofa working on my laptop while my wife is sleeping and got challenged by hotel staff wanting me to prove that I'm indeed a guest. Don't come here, go somewhere else where customers matter.

This can not be called a 5-star hotel. The building itself is fantastic, but it seems like its a grand dame fallen in disrepair. Every room we were in (hotel room, ballroom, restaurant, hallways) was just a little bit too dirty. When we arrived, there was a large delivery truck parked right outside the main entrance, we had to circle around and park at a parking garage instead of being able to make use of the valet service. We had dinner one time in the restaurant, and the shrimp pasta was too spicy, I couldn't continue eating it. When we mentioned this to the staff, we heard them relay laughingly to someone "I told you it was spicy". We were not offered a replacement or anything else to make up for this. Additionally the pasta had a wole langoustine on top, which had not been de-veined. Breaking the tale apart smeared shrimp feces all over the meat. Breakfast was good, however not at a 5-star level. (F.ex. no table service for tea/coffee, no extra menu to order from) The "spa" consists of a very small pool, and a sauna area, which you reach from the pool by walking past the gym and treatment rooms, bit awkward layout.

Lack of service and hospitality. Great location, ok rooms, but horrible service and hospitality. If you have a knack for being treated poorly: this is the place to be! This could be a great place to stay, at the moment it is poorly managed. One example, we had to briefly get some things from our room to meet our appointment downstairs. Unfortunately at the same time the cleaning crew were cleaning our room. We asked whether we could quickly get changed and whether they could come back at a later point. Cleaning lady protested that we would use our room, apparently it is more important for her to quickly clean, than for us to be able to use our room. Then after us insisting to use the room, her manager came in, not once, but twice to insist we leave the room. This is just one example of the broader lack of service and hospitality.
