  My Dutch husband wanted us to switch from Rabobank to ASN Bank because Rabobank invests in deforestation and other questionable causes. It took him just one day to open an account. For me, as a foreigner, the process was very different. After more than two months, a lengthy and frustrating process, and even a home visit from a rather unpleasant employee to verify my documents, my application was ultimately denied. They claimed to have called me twice to request additional information, but in reality, I received only one call with a very short ring time. They also sent an email explicitly stating that I should not contact them, as they would call me again — which never happened. Then, without further notice, they rejected my application, closed the case, and told me that if I wanted to try again, I would have to restart the entire process from scratch. At this point, I suppose we’ll be staying with Rabobank.

  I used the ics credit and got problems with a 1€ answerpage-it charged without warning 45€ and 1€ and i followed the procedyres ics creditcard cistomer servic but did never Get back my 45€ and can not see this ics cards as really customerservice or thrust that open card storing ics and app all where buying from - i cutted my plastic card in 29 bits and locked my card detaljs from booking and closed my card and account and app after recobtacted ICs customer swrvice and it told its too late to get my refund and its takes long time before ics closes my ics card - and i has to wait months to see that it is closing from stealing from my card to their links in other countries

  After I went to another bank and was told they couldn't meet with me to open a new account for a month!!!, I signed up online with ASN Bank. What a contrast. It did take about a week and a half for them to verify who I am, to get the signed documents from me, and to send out my debit card and digipass. That was a few days longer than another full service bank I am using which has numerous offices. But other than the very slight delay in opening a new account, everything else with ASN has been great. So much better than the first bank which told me to come back next month. Try ASN; it is a good bank with low costs and without the BS.

  I wanted to open a bank account with ASN as it is an ethical bank but after 1.5 months I still don't have an account. First, they made me meet with AMP Group to identify me, I had to make sure I was home for a window of two hours specifically for this but no one showed up. After rescheduling they did show up and they spent 30 minutes checking my passport and all necessary documents. A few days later I received mails from ASN that they don't have the necessary information and I need to be identified once again. I sent them my details directly but they never responded. I voiced my dissatisfaction but instead they ignored my mails and keep sending generic reminders that I need to provide them with proof of identification. Additionally, they refused to speak anything other than Dutch which I luckily speak but I prefer English and thought this was exclusionary. I am very disappointed as I was eager to join a better bank but they are making it impossible and have wasted my time.

  Opening an account was straightforward and could mostly transfer direct debits quickly. No real hassles experienced.
