  My trip to hotel holland lodge was excellent, host is very friendly and helpfull, the facilities of the hotel are on point, great TV, rooms are heated and also have AC if its too hot. The center of the city is easy accesible with transport and walking.

  When we arrived we were told that our room was not available due to flooding. We were offered two other options which was fine but neither were as good as what we booked and we were only offered a discount for one (which was with a shared bathroom so we didn't go for that). The beds were very uncomfortable, the mattresses seemed convex shaped so we spent all night trying not to roll off. The atmosphere was strange, it seemed like families were living in the hotel, with arguments during the night, kids bikes everywhere, children roaming the hallway. The shower was absolutely tiny, the TV was not working and finishes and cleanliness were not great. We knew we'd booked a budget hotel but next time we'd rather spent s bit more than stay somewhere where we just couldn't wait to leave and were dreading coming back to.

  Excellent small hotel for budget travellers. Great value for money. Just a godsend for utrecht. The rooms are simple, but if you are a budget traveller you will find there everything you need. Very clean. Special thanks for the good size refrigerator and for microwave. You can save your money to have some meal in the room. Comfortable bed, good bedding. Sleep well. Great staff at the front desk. Perfect English, very friendly and helpful with your questions. Excellent location. Very close to metro. There is a sink and all the necessary furniture in the room: a table, stool, shelves.

  I left this disgusting place after 10 minutes to book another hotel. Came to Utrecht for a night in April with my partner and wanted somewhere cheap to stay, and I intentionally booked a room that on the website said there was a private bathroom and double bed. When we arrived, we were (very rudely) told that the room we had was in fact not one with a private bathroom and we had to use the shared one next to the reception desk. We were then shown downstairs to our room which had two single beds, so absolutely nothing about the booking I made was accurate. The sheets were filthy and hairy, the room smelled and had a disgusting looking sink at the end of it. After sitting in the room for around 10 minutes, both my partner and I decided that we would rather anything else than to stay the night in this horrible "hotel", and we spent our money to book a different place in the city. A sticker at the desk states that anyone that leaves a good review gets a €10 refund on their booking, so I wouldn't even believe any review of this place that's anything higher than 1 star; they're being bribed into it!

  An excellent service from the staff and the owner of the hotel. Due to a booking mistake from my side they upgraded my room with no extra cost. In addition I requested to extend my stay for 2 hours due to an important work call and aggreed to do so without extra cost. Room is clean and warm all night. Overall a very good satisfying stay.
