We celebrated our 40th. Wedding anniversary while staying in this hotel in Maastricht.. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful... Especially the assistant manager who did everything to make our special day memorable..I will remain thankful and grateful to him. I will like to recommend everyone visiting Maastricht to enjoy stay in this hotel like I did...

This hotel was reserved by a business partner as it is proximity to the working place. There have been some improvements such as dirty and smelly carpets removed. However, the room is dark without proper lightning. Some facilities were simply non-functioning such as light bulbs, shower hose, towel rack etc. It is a shame that nothing has been done to fix issues although I left a memo to fix them. Not recommended to stay.

Terrible experience really, we paid over 100 euro a night each for our rooms and ironically it was about the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed at. Upon arrival it took a long time for anyone to come to reception, despite ringing the bell provided, and then I was given a dirty room which had not been cleaned since the previous occupant’s stay. Had to trail all the way back down to reception with my luggage to get moved to a clean room, which was frankly not much better; immediately noticed they’d forgotten to provide basic stuff like towels so straight back down to reception again. Reception staff were not surprised or apologetic in the least that both rooms were dirty and/or unprepared, it must happen all the time! Eventually got into the room and turned on the light, only to discover there isn’t really a light in the room, just a series of dim lamps you have to switch on and off individually, so after sunset it is very dark and there’s nothing you can do about it; anyone elderly or with slight sight issues will struggle to see properly. The lamps also didn’t work reliably and were flickering a lot which was annoying. I’m used to having a mini-fridge in the room but this one was so old and excessively noisy I had to turn it off at night despite wearing earplugs, so it was kind of useless. The radiator was turned up to maximum and was still only lukewarm; my parents asked for this to be fixed, staff said they’d bring them up a heater, which never arrived, trailed back down to reception yet again only to be told that they couldn’t find the heater and had given up looking. Why even have a heater to hand out to guests, what is the need?? Unless they are well aware that their heating system doesn’t work and guests are frequently going down to ask for it to be fixed? Needless to say the hot water was also inconsistent and we had cold showers on mornings we had to be up before 9am. Shower is also not in a cubicle, just an open space in the bathroom, so it gets chilly even when the water’s hot! Mind you these were supposed to be Deluxe rooms that we had paid for; they were smaller than standard rooms and didn’t even meet the basic expectations that a hotel room costing over €100 a night (on weekdays!) ought to be clean, warm and well-lit, with reliable hot water. Nobody greeted us when we left or entered the hotel, the staff were completely disinterested. We were offered vouchers for free drinks (via email, not as a gesture of apology haha) and the prosecco tasted like someone had left it open for days so it had gone flat, which they probably had done deliberately considering the attitude of the staff. Incidentally there was a sign up in reception advising that they cannot be held responsible if someone goes in your hotel room and steals your belongings, which made me wonder how often that happens too. Such a warm welcome! On checking out, the man on reception asked if the hotel was okay; I simply said no, as well he knew because we’d been down so many times over our 4-night stay to ask for basic things like cleaning, towels and heating! He did not care, not sure why he bothered asking. Was tempted to demand a partial refund but their apathy made me think it was pointless asking. Do NOT stay here, don’t take a risk and think “well how bad can it be, it might be okay,” NO it will not be!

Got a phone call from this hotel at 8pm on Saturday. I had a cancelled reservation via Booking.com, and it was cancelled a long time ago. I find it inappropriate to get a phone call during my weekend while I have no active reservation.

The elevator and room were filthy, with no housekeeping evident. I discovered dirty socks left in my room, there was no electric kettle, and only half-used toilet paper roll was provided. When I requested these amenities, I was told that room service was not available, and I had to collect them myself. The breakfast options were very limited. Despite mentioning in advance that I was traveling with a child, no crib was provided. Overall, I had a terrible experience. This hotel does not meet the standards of a 4-star property and is not worth the price they charge.
