The place was fine for what we paid. I don’t think I’d consider it a 4star hotel, but more of a budget hotel. Staff was super helpful and friendly and rum punch upon arrival was tasty (any strong). The room and furniture was outdated, the mattress was older, the views were awesome and the location was great. We stayed one night and it was fine after a long travel day, but you get the value for what you pay. It does look like there are updated rooms from other reviews.

Whilst the staff was super friendly professional and accommodating my husband and I think the hotel REALLY needs a revamp. The rooms look nothing like the ones advertised on booking.com where they show only a limited range of them. The walls of the room and bathroom looked tired and the paint on the doors were peeling off. The area around the pool looked tired too - should be repainted. The rooms require sound proofing, there was a lot of noise coming through the walls so much so we requested to be moved to another room which the staff obliged. Unfortunately it looked more like a motel rather than a hotel. Staff at the restaurant were friendly and accommodating and food was nice and fresh. We were happy to stay for a few days but wouldn't have stayed longer.

It is personally extremely rewarding when all the homework one conducts before traveling internationally, bears successful fruit. Finding the right accommodation is crucial, if you want your vacation to go well. That’s a no brainer. But then, I’m also demanding. When I travel to the Caribbean Islands (my all time favorite), my target is always a new destination that I have never been to before. So you have to start from scratch, although I now do have certain “must have” requirements. For one, it has to be a beachfront hotel. Second, I must be able to get one of the best, if not the best rooms that has a direct oceanfront view. Third, and finally, I strongly desire to support local boutique hotels and shun big name international hotel brands. In all these 3 departments, Mariners Hotel, on Villa Beach, fit the bill. On top of that, I communicated with them, on a regular basis, long before arrival, kept asking so many questions, for numerous weeks (with Crystal, Whitney, Lorniel), to fine tune my choice. The front desk staff never got angry, upset, or ignored me. Instead, they were cordial, highly responsive and uniquely professional. Customer service, before even getting here, was nothing short of exceptional. So, it was no surprise that Mariners Hotel, clearly won the prize, to be my destination for a vacation in St Vincent and the Grenadines (Yes, I also corresponded with numerous other hotels). Let me say at the onset, that my room was clean, very comfortable, had quiet air conditioning (hard to find these days), adequate toiletries, a coffee machine, refrigerator and a bed with white, soft, fresh sleep inviting bedsheets. The hotel also comes with a well-known restaurant on the island (the French Verandah), so that was a bonus (I have already written about it, on this platform). I dined here several times (except for breakfast, because I generally skip) and on each occasion, the food and service was superb. The menu selections are diverse and so good that you really do not need to go anywhere else if you want to just hang out at the hotel. There is an added bonus. The ambiance and ocean views from the restaurant are hard to match. In that context, the vistas from my oceanfront deluxe room were even more mesmerizing and stunning. I didn’t have to go anywhere to watch the sought after ritual of a daily Caribbean sunset. Just sat on my balcony, took copious pictures and fully soaked it all up. If you wish to excel, you must be willing to admit, that there is always room for development. Here, the hotel staff could do better in the area of concierge expertise. Generally, my suggestions were more comprehensive, in terms of outside dining choices and transportation. I am talking about restaurant staff. Maybe I asked the wrong crowd. LOL. For example, they would recommend a taxi for a location that was within easy walking distance on the boardwalk and a few steps on the beach. For me, it was not an issue, because I do extensive research, before even asking the question. Still, no worries. Overall, a wonderful and memorable stay, very pleasant and friendly people, superb front desk crew, amazing restaurant staff (Shade, Roseline, Thomas, Kerri-Ann, Angie, Julia, Abiola), always willing to help. This is definitely a vacation stay for the memory books, that I will never forget, for a very very long time. Finally, thank you to the owners. Keisha and Vidal Browne, for your diligent staff and this amazing and satisfying stay, at your hotel.

This hotel is a little gem compared to its neighbours the bigger ones. The staff here go above and beyond to help you with whatever you need. I have never felt so cared for in a hotel. The new rooms are amazing that have been built I really enjoyed them . The swimming pool was out but they sent us opposite to young island so that was a bonus for me. The receptionists are brilliant what an asset to the company. I look forward to coming back to stay here. The cleaner was amazing too very happy. See you all again thankyou stacy from uk .
