Just spent 1 week here. Don’t get me wrong as we enjoyed our stay, but this resort is 3.5 stars imo. Very dated, poor upkeep on the premises, average food quality with small portions and a bit overpriced. Maintenance has slacked overall. The pool was clean & warm, but in need of some repairs. One BIG complaint - on weekends the bars across the way are obnoxiously loud with pounding music until 4 AM for 3 nights in a row. Intolerable and you will not sleep. The potential here is great but they are missing the boat.

We had high hopes for Young Island Resort, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. From the moment we arrived, we felt unwelcome. The biggest issue was the General Manager, Bianca Porter, whose attitude was shockingly unprofessional—rude, unhelpful, and completely lacking in customer service skills. Breakfast was pleasant, but lunch was underwhelming. The buffet was limited, and asking for seconds seemed to bother the staff. It's a real shame, as the location has potential, but poor management and hospitality left us with a very negative impression. Not recommended.

If I could give less than one star I would. The bartender over charged members of our group, refused to give print out, another member of the group ordered a drink but never received it, but tried to not only charge him for the drink he never received and also tried to charge him for someone else’s drink as well. Rude and unprofessional. I would not recommend Young island resort, I will never go there again and would encourage others not to as well.

I visited the resort for a friend's birthday dinner after making a reservation on the mainland. We arrived and were not received even though the servers/ waiters were standing by. We walked to a table that was empty and sat while servers watched us. It was after sitting, that a server then walked to us and ASKED if we had a reservation which was a stupid question as you can only get to the resort AFTER THE RESERVATION HAS BEEN MADE and they send a ferry to pick you up on the mainland. The server spoke to us condescendingly and rudely which we noticed he didnt do to the WHITE patrons present. The food wasn't worth the price or horrible service that we endured. We won't be returning and I don't think you should visit either.

Did not receive a warm welcome. One of the boat's drivers was unfriendly and made an issue, as well as speaking to me in an indecent manner about me wearing a bonnet to protect my hairstyle on the journey over to the island. I went on to ask him why I couldn't wear it on the boat and he couldn't answer and insisted on taking it off. I am quite unhappy, and I believe that all guests should be treated decently. Please improve your workers' performance in order to increase your clients.
