If you are purchasing a Koga bike outside of Europe, then De Vakantiefietser is absolutely the way to go. Benefits: excellent and responsive help over email during the bike configuration and ordering process; brilliant in-person fitting and explanation about the new bike; excellent bike touring supplies in the shop in case you need anything; superb support for packing and shipping the bicycle for international transport back to your home country. That last step is crucial: I am so grateful that the owner did expert packing of the bike for airline transport, including showing me how to do it myself. Plus they arranged transport to the airport, and provided detailed guidance on how to reclaim value added tax (VAT) at Amsterdam Schipol airport. The entire experience was low stress, and made the decision to purchase overseas a viable one. Bonus: thanks for providing a pastry and a nice cup of tea when I arrived a little early on Saturday morning :-)

Would have been helpful to write anywhere that on Saturdays the shop is closed/only open for people that made an appointment in advance - or have somebody pick up the phone when I wanted to see if it is open. Also would have been helpful to know that you are only helped if you bought your bike there, and if not, your not considered a customer worth helping?! Very unfriendly, disappointing and frustrating experience in every way possible (which was surprising as we Talk about a bike shop) - I would not recommend trying your luck and save you a lot if energy and frustration…

I finally bought my touring bike, which I had been thinking about buying for a long time, at the beginning of December 2024. I went from Istanbul to Amsterdam twice for this. I would like to thank the De Vakantiefietser family for their support during this process. In fact, I was following the beautiful works of De Vakantiefietser on their website. When I decided to buy a bike, I already knew that De Vakantiefietser was the right place. Because only such a bike shop, which has gained experience by being a touring cyclist and is an expert in its field, can understand the state of a touring cyclist. They patiently listened to my requests about the bike, gave me detailed information, introduced the bike to me and even packed it for the plane. Now everything is ready for my bike trip from Turkey to the Far East (I am also planning a trip to Amsterdam by bike for my bike's first maintenance). I think all touring cyclists should get to know De Vakantiefietser. Thanks...

Beautiful trekking bicycle store filled with Santos, Koga and lots too level accesoires. And coffee. Staff is experienced, and extremely helpful. If I ever trade in my current trekking bike, I'd go here.

Whilst I'm not stranger to mountain biking I was recently inspired to take up cycle touring. Having no previous experience I searched the internet and watched a few YouTubes by Alee Denham and decided to look more closely at the Koga World traveler and made an enquiry to the shop which is the largest retailer of Koga bikes. I made an appointment and flew to Amsterdam where Michiel encouraged me to try and compare other bikes, all of which were extremely good. Between specifications and gut feeling, in the end I opted for an Idworx AR Ti and placed the order. I returned to the shop several weeks later to select and ordered a range of accessories required. The bike with all the custom specifications and accessories was delivered to the shop in the time specified. My 3rd visit to the shop was to collect the bike, box it up and fly to Morocco. I've been cycling around on it for several days, and its simply perfect. It's not just that the bike is a high specification engineering masterpiece, it has been the entire process of acquiring the bike. I wanted a single point solution, and whilst many things can be bought online, you cannot buy the retail experience which I required and received. My experience showed how the shop was able to precisely understand and accommodate my requirements, and present options with the technical knowledge to back it up. I'd highly recommend this shop, I couldn’t have asked for more. Great products, service and customer relations.
