  What a wonderful and historic little hotel. I am Canadian and there is a lovely connection to Canada and the end of WW2. Each room has a historical theme, I started in the Martin Luther King room. The staff were super nice and breakfast was simple but very nicely done. Only comment to be aware of is that it can be hard to get a taxi or uber so book and plan well in advance is my advice.

  I love staying here. The rooms are very well appointed. Comfy beds and bedding, nespresso machine, filled water carafe with beautiful crystal glasses. Rooms are themed with peace heroes. And of course the hotel is very historic - make sure you take some time to learn about this critical hotel and its function during WWII. The terasse outside is wonderful in the summers and in the winters the inside is quite comfy and cozy as well. I know the restaurant just changed not too long ago so I cannot comment as I did not eat there. Breakfast is your typical options and they will make you whatever to your preference. Convenient to bus station and walking distances to many shops and restaurants. Because this is a uni town sometimes it can get noisy even late at night.

  The dinner is over pricing. Atmosphere is very nice. Yes the price for a 4-course menu sounds not quite expensive, but each course is in a tiny tiny portion. They did serve fries, but a very small portion for many people to share with. The taste, in general, is also not satisfying. The appetizer (leek) is quite nice. The others, especially the dessert, are so disappointing.

  Historically the hotel is significant and interesting. Our lunch at Lev restaurant was decent but pricey. The club chicken sandwich was tasty but the salad was forgotten on my burger. Though a server did ask if I wanted it. I declined because the portions are generous. The thick cut fries were hot and crispy. Though we were in no rush, the service was extremely slow, especially the drink service. Perhaps they were short-staffed that day? Unfortunately I had to send back 2 glasses of white wine because they were not cold at all. I did let the bartender know to check the cooler. They were very gracious about the wine being sent back and of course removed it from the bill. We were going to have espressos after our meal but didn't want to wait 30+ mins to order and receive them. Overall, we don't regret going but would only recommend for a drink/beer if such historical landmarks are your thing.

  A Royal Christmas Feast at Hotel de Wereld Our annual Christmas lunch at Hotel de Wereld was a truly unforgettable experience. The three-course meal was exquisite, perfectly complemented by the excellent wine pairings. The service provided by Wouter and his team was impeccable. Their attention to detail and efficiency elevated the dining experience to new heights. Jelle de Ruyter, the chairman of the National Heritage Hotel De Wereld, captivated us with his insightful historical anecdotes about the hotel and its surroundings. His passion for the hotel's rich history added a unique dimension to our festive gathering. For the Royal Air Forces Association, this Christmas dinner was a joyous occasion. The festive atmosphere and friendly interactions among members made it a truly memorable event. We highly recommend Hotel de Wereld for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience in a unique setting that dates back to 1945.
