  Just visited all the way from Oman, and I am absolutely thrilled! The food here is an explosion of flavor. Without a doubt the best Indian cuisine I've ever tasted in Amsterdam! Huge shoutout to Ram, who is incredibly kind and welcoming, and the entire team for their fantastic service! Don't miss this place!

  We visited Kathmandu Kitchen in Zaandam, a cozy and charming 400-year-old building. No wonder they’ve won the Gault & Millau Award for two years in a row! 🏆 The food was amazing — we loved the creamy Mango Lassi, flavorful Mushroom Chili (great for vegans!), juicy Chicken Momos, and tender Sekuwa Lamb. The Mixed Grilled Tandoori Plate is perfect if you want to try a little bit of everything. They also serve tasty chowmein and rich, comforting curries. 🍛🍜 A big thank you to Nishan for the wonderful hospitality. We can’t wait to come back!

  We visited this restaurant based on its high Google ratings, which, unfortunately, did not reflect our experience at all. Upon arrival, we were hopeful after seeing the menu and looking forward to enjoying some good Indian food. In most Indian restaurants in the Netherlands, it’s common to receive complimentary papadam and chutneys at the beginning, but this was noticeably missing. We ordered Paneer Vindaloo, Chana Masala, and plain naan. While the staff was polite and courteous throughout, which we appreciated, the food itself was extremely disappointing. Both dishes lacked authenticity and did not taste good at all. In an attempt to make the food more palatable, we requested a small portion of pickle. Although it helped us finish the meal, we were shocked to see a €5 charge for that tiny serving—something that typically costs less than that for a full jar at any Indian grocery store. This felt highly unprofessional and unjustified. Overall, this was a very poor dining experience. Despite the kind staff, the food quality and pricing practices were unacceptable. We would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Indian cuisine.

  We had an amazing experience at Katmandu Kitchen in Zaanse! As vegetarians, it can be tricky to find authentic and flavorful Indian food, but this place truly delivered. Every dish we tried was packed with rich spices and perfectly balanced flavors — from momo to veg pakoras and from matar paneer masala to the fragrant basmati rice and freshly baked naan. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy, making it feel like a little slice of India right in the Netherlands. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving delicious vegetarian Indian food!
