    Overall stay was very good. Hotel was new and clean. The best part was the $15 breakfast from 8am-10am, fresh bread, coffee, fruits, eggs, and strupwafel. Ahmed from Italy and Egypt was friendly, a pleasure to talk, and made the stay heartwarming. The small double room is good for 1 night. Check-in was fast and easy. Zaandam is beautiful. Would come back!

    We had a great stay here. The rooms were very clean and well-maintained. The hotel is just 15 minutes from Amsterdam city center, which was super convenient. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming—especially Semih, who went above and beyond to help us during our stay. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Amsterdam!

    Nice standard of hotel. Tea & coffee available all the time. Maybe small breakfast but good to have it. Nice neighbourhood. Peace & quiet, close to the train station & grocery shop. Room small but if you need just it for a sleep it’s alright.

    We are travelling from Australia recently stayed at Distrikt Hotels in Zaandam and had an overall pleasant experience. The property is beautiful, well-located, and the staff is genuinely warm and welcoming. Aissam was especially kind, and the owner of the property was extremely supportive throughout my stay. Ella stood out as well—she was incredibly helpful, attentive, and went above and beyond to assist us. All other staff members, both boys and girls, were friendly and always carried a positive attitude and always stepped in to help us with any issues. We were also accommodated with an early check-in, which was much appreciated and made our arrival smooth and stress-free by owner. However, I did face a significant issue during my stay related to the in-room safe. I had been using the safe the same way for two days without any problems. On the day of the incident, I locked my bag keys and important medications (brought from Australia) in the safe before heading out. When I returned around 11 PM, the safe started showing an error code and wouldn’t open. Ella, who had just finished her shift, did her best by calling the manager and the owner, but unfortunately, no one picked up. The night shift manager, who was present at the time, was wearing headphones and was extremely unresponsive, unsupportive, and appeared unprofessional in handling the situation. Despite Ella handing over the issue to him, he took no action, leaving me without access to my belongings or crucial medications for the night. It wasn’t until the next morning around 9:30 AM that the owner provided the master code to unlock the safe. I appreciate that the owner took the time to sit down with me, offer a genuine apology, and even provided complimentary breakfast as a gesture of goodwill. Aissam also personally apologised for the incident, which I value. Key Takeaways: The property itself is excellent—clean, modern, and in a great location. Staff (especially owner, Aissam, Ella and all other staff except night manager) are truly wonderful—helpful, kind, and professional. However, after 11 PM, there appears to be a gap in accountability and support—especially in case of emergencies. The night shift lacks proper supervision, and unfortunately, that can leave guests on their own during critical moments. In conclusion, I don’t have major complaints because the staff and property are genuinely great. But I do hope the management takes action to improve night-time responsiveness, as that would take the guest experience from good to excellent. Owner was very responsive the next morning and took the time to make things right. Special thanks to the lady calling owner next morning and fixing the issue with master code.

    Perfect hotel for my itineray which included Amsterdam, Zaanse Schans and Haarlem as it is only a few mins walk from the central train station. High quality and new hotel. Supremely clean. And Zaandam is a charming little city and does not have the big crowds you find in Amsterdam. I appreciate the quiet hours at night ans got plenty of restful sleep. The hotel staff were vey nice and acommodating. A perfect stay.
