  We found this cute little new place by surprise in Zaandam and went there for a date night! Absolutely delicious, authentic Italian food and the staff could not be more lovely. The owner came and had a chat with us and explained the restaurant and the dishes to us. We even got served free pistache liqueur alongside our dessert. This place is a must try if you love Italian food! We will definitely be back 🤍

  Food was very delicious. Went for a evening meal whilst visiting friends in Zaandam and was taken here. Pasta had lots of flavour, friends dish was nice too (had to try some)

  Everything is incredibly delicious to the tiniest details; like the home made bread with olive oil, the radicchio, tomato bruschetta, the intense taste of mushroom topping on the pizza. Wonderful! The service was super kind and attentive. If you want real Italian food: this is your place. And totally affordable too.

  Sott'olio appears to be one of the best-kept secrets in the Greater Amsterdam area in terms of pizza & Italian cuisine. Everything was perfect: the cozy atmosphere, the way the attentive staff listened to our requests and recommended the best options, the generous portions and - most importantly - the perfectly balanced taste within every single dish we tried. The mixed starters were a feast of savoury delights; both the pizza & calzone were probably among the best we've ever had. The sautéed mussels were delicious and had that unmistakeable 'Fregene' aftertaste that connoisseurs know so well... Deserts were also great, and so were the grappa & limoncello. I definitely recommend this place.
