  A few months ago I wanted to transfer my mortgage and switch to another bank. In the beginning we had good conversations with the advisor. He was very knowledgeable and responded quickly and friendly to all our questions. The interest rate was dropping and indeed became as low as we had hoped. We decided to hold on to that interest rate and instructed Van Bruggen to arrange the mortgage for us. We signed the assignment, but from the next day onwards the communication disappeared completely. There was no response to us anymore: phone calls were not answered and emails were not answered. We had to wait for more than a month for any response. We only tried to get some information about the progress but without success. At some point we had had enough. I sent an angry email stating that if there was no response within two days, I would arrange my mortgage elsewhere. Suddenly there was communication again. Then they said: “Sorry for the late response, but because we did not contact the bank in time, the fixed interest rate has expired. The new rate has increased (from 3.32% to 3.48%).” They also indicated that they would meet us halfway in the advisory costs to compensate for the damage. Eventually they offered a €400 discount, but I don’t understand how such an amount covers the difference in interest. Because I was completely done with Van Bruggen and just wanted the whole process to be completed, I said: “Just finish it, I don’t care anymore.” Tip: don’t do business with Van Bruggen. They don’t stick to agreements, and the last thing you want is for your money to be managed by such an unprofessional company. Don’t be fooled by their friendly attitude at the beginning, because once you’ve signed, you’ll have to beg to speak to someone — and that won’t work.

  We experienced a lot of expertise, which was very pleasant. They gave us a lot of clarity in our financial options. But I thought the communication and accessibility were really bad. You have to do everything yourself and they don't keep agreements... Very annoying as a customer, so you don't know where you stand. Top content but poor communication, therefore three stars.

  Eric helped us very personally and extremely professionally! Our wish was to realize an extension for a kitchen/diner, to make our home more sustainable and to make our mortgage future-proof. He is always available during the entire process, from start to finish. He keeps you continuously informed, takes all the time and effort for you and explains all options and the subject matter thoroughly! Step by step, from the first financial advice, the financial plan to the guidance surrounding the provision of financing, he monitors everything between us, as customers, and the lender(s). Eric has given us better help and more freedom of choice than any lender we have ever dealt with. In all respects, we are extremely satisfied with how he has summarized our wishes, not only now but also (in all possible scenarios!) for the future, in a good financial product! We highly recommend the Van Bruggen Adviesgroep Enschede!
